HOPE - where Having Only Positive Expectations (HOPE) for our student athletes is what we do, how we help to transform the lives of our players, and how we impact the Rochester community.
As Rochester’s leading AAU youth basketball program, HOPE provides year-round basketball instruction and experience. We have teams 11u to 17u playing at highly competitive levels, and also offer a developmental program for kids under 10.
HOPE is committed to creating well rounded players on and off the basketball court - setting us apart from most basketball programs.
In addition to excellent basketball training, we provide quality tutoring and mentoring opportunities for our student athletes. As a result, HOPE players are being accepted at a variety of local private high schools where they can reach their full potential, as athletes, students, and citizens.
HOPE is partnered with City Rocks, the premier Nike Elite Basketball program in Upstate NY.
With City Rocks, HOPE players participate in the most elite tournaments and National Exposure Circuits, including:
As HOPE players travel and compete in these premier level tournaments, they gain in-person national level exposure to colleges and universities.
The primary purpose and goals of the HOPE program is to instill personal values, sportsmanship and a sense of teamwork within its participants. The program has an academic component to provide academic counseling, tutoring and support for the participants. The major component is utilizing formal sporting activities [basketball fundamentals, coaching, weight training and strength conditioning] to instill the content knowledge of the sport and provide proper education and training to engage in the sport. The secondary purpose is the development of good character, citizenship and academic preparation for the high school participation in sports and for college bound academic requirements.
HOPE’s mission is to use the fundamentals of basketball, weight training and education as a vehicle to teach tomorrows leaders to be well-rounded athletes on and off the court.
